Use case
Entrance exams that are fair, fast and ready to rank
Admission tests bring many unfamiliar candidates into the school on one day, often in several sittings. Egold CBT gives every candidate a timed paper with the questions in a different order, marks objective answers immediately and gives the admissions team a ranked list without hand-marking.
Sound familiar?
-
Marking hundreds of entrance scripts by hand delays admission letters by days.
-
Candidates in a later sitting may hear the questions from an earlier group.
-
Results have to be typed into a spreadsheet before anyone can rank them.
How it works
-
1
Register the candidates
Candidates sign up with your school's join code, or you create their accounts. Put them in the "Entrance candidates" class so they see only the entrance paper, and move them to their new class once admitted.
-
2
Set papers per subject
English, Mathematics and General Knowledge can be one combined exam or separate papers. Add comprehension passages, tables and diagrams.
-
3
Run several sittings
Shuffle questions and options for every candidate. Each sitting's timer is controlled by the server, so refreshing a page gains nothing.

Rank and export
Scores, percentages and positions are ready as soon as candidates submit. Export to Excel for the admissions meeting.

What helps most
- Different paper per candidate
- Questions and options shuffle per candidate; answer keys never reach their computer.
- Integrity warnings
- Leaving the exam window, copying and pasting are recorded with the time.
- Works without internet
- On the offline server, the whole hall runs on the school network.
- Same-day ranking
- Positions and percentages without re-typing scores.

Questions about entrance exams
Do candidates need their own email addresses?
Each account needs an email address to sign in with. If candidates do not have one, the school can create the accounts and print the sign-in details on each candidate's slip.
Can parents see the result?
Results stay inside the school's workspace. The admissions team decides what to share and how.
Can we run entrance exams without internet?
Yes, with the self-hosted version: one school computer is the server and the exam hall connects to it over the school network.
